The Unity in Faith

TOGETHER WE BUILD!

We are building an educational building now. But eventually, we hope to build up a spiritual palace for God: "The Body of Christ". According to Ephesians 4:16: building up the body of Christ: we need to depend on Christ, we need to pick up our responsibilities, and we need to work together in love. Therefore without unity, there is no "together we build". So in the beginning, let’s start with "The Unity in Faith": Our "Statement of Faith"

  1. What is a "Statement of Faith?" :
The "Statement of Faith" is the way we interpret the Bible. Some people may think that "The Statement of Faith", "Theology", or "Doctrines", ...are not my business. They are only for the scholars, or theologians. But actually, a "Statement of Faith" represents our understanding and the way we interpret the Bible. Don’t imagine that "I live by the Bible" is good enough. Although we have the same Bible, there are many interpretations. Even the cults and the Devil they used the Bible, but in different interpretations. So read the Bible, quoted the Bible is Important, but interpreting the Bible right is also important.

  2. How do we know the way we interpret the Bible is correct?
    1. We are a Christian Church
Since Jesus Christ had built up the church 2000 years ago, we followed the traditional interpretation of the Bible all the way long. We are a mainline Evangelical Church. We may not the only Biblical Evangelical Church, but we are one of the Biblical Evangelical Church.
    2. We are a Baptist church
You may have a different opinion about the issue of denomination, but the Baptist Church had a couple hundred years of history. We are a Baptist church, it is our heritage. "The Baptist Faith and Message" is the way we interpret the Bible.

  3. Some suggestion:
    1. Let us be humble and respectful for our Christian heritage. Those who were before us, they set a good example and footsteps for us to follow on how to understand the Bible correctly.
    2. Do you have a right and accurate way to interpret the Scripture? If you don’t, I would suggest you to join our Sunday School or Bible study. It will benefit for you.
    3. If you find out you misinterpret the Bible, do you willing to accept the correction of the Holy Spirit, or still keep the opinion you preferred?

  4. Ephesians 4:16 (ESV)
16from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

    2 Timothy 2:14–15 (ESV)
1414Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. 1515Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
